Relax With A Raw Chocolate Malt

Maca is a root that comes from South America and has a taste like chicory, similar to coffee. It is known to regulate the hypothalamus gland’s production of cortisol, the stress hormone.

Maca is a root grown in the Andes.  It is renowned for its ability to increase both sexual desire and fertility.  In a study published in the medical journal ‘Andrologia,’ it was reported that men taking maca root experienced a higher rate of fertility and sexual desire than men taking a placebo.  And many herbalists, including Chris Kilham, the author of ‘Hot Plants’ recommend it as a treatment for low libido in women, as well.

How can you use maca powder?  I’m glad you asked!  Maca is the secret ingredient that adds a malt-y flavor to my raw Chocolate Malt.  This frosty treat, made with hemp milk, bananas, and unsweetened cocoa powder, will crush your chocolate cravings without spiking your blood sugar.

See you next time when I’ll be talking about a tasty, bittersweet treat that chocolate lovers can use to manage stress.

Hi Jennifer,
Can I use almond milk instead of hemp milk and still get that same flavor/results?

Hi Hakima,

Absolutely! Hemp milk is a little richer and nuttier, but either will be delicious.

Hello Holli!I just made this for lunch and am literally releing with energy.  Love it!  I have been struggling with finding a good protein powder and now realize that I just don’t need it.  I can just use hemp seeds or cashews and I love the dates as the natural sweetener.  Dates really are nature’s candy! Thanks again for sharing.Abby
