Raw Food Cookie Party!

Hello cookie lovers!  Last time I shared a recipe and some tips for making a simple...and simply delicious raw Almond Cookie.  I hope you’ve had a chance to try the recipe and are enjoying the results.

In this post, I want to show you how to vary that raw food cookie dough and, with a few simple swaps, create a collection of raw food cookies that are good enough to be the star of their own party.

For a lot of people, cookies aren’t cookies without a chocolate component.  My raw Chocolate Chip Cookies fill the bill.  

Instead of adding raisins, mix in some chocolate chips. You can also add 1 teaspoon orange zest, for citrusy-chocolate goodness.

Another variation is my raw food Schoolboy Cookie recipe.  Instead of adding raisins in this version, press a small square of dark chocolate onto the top of each cookie. While, like the Chocolate Chip cookies, these are not technically ‘raw’ because of the chocolate, they are still a much healthier option than traditional white flour/sugar/butter-laden cookies.

For non-chocolate lovers, my raw Almond Cookie recipe produces raw Lemon Cookies with one simple switcheroo.  Simply replace the almond extract with lemon extract and add 1 teaspoon lemon zest.  Yummy! If you don’t want to do all the ‘cooking’ for your party, consider throwing a Raw Food Cookie Swap Party.  Ask each of your friends to make a variation of the basic Almond Cookie recipe.

In fact, “Raw Food Made Easy For 2” was my first raw food book. I like it because of the simplicity, the taste, and the quantities are perfect for the food processor.
