Eat More and Lose More with Raw Food Recipes

I'm not a nutritionist or a dietician.  My specialty is simply making good food taste better.  But I always get lots of questions about eating raw food to drop pounds, so I’d like to share a bit of my own experience about keeping trim with raw foods.

The first thing you should know is that I don't necessarily eat 100% raw food 100% of the time.  My diet – and by ‘diet,’ I mean the food that I eat, not a weight-loss regimen -- includes some low-fat healthy cooked foods like steamed vegetables, beans, and quinoa. These foods help keep me satisfied and help me steer clear of the fat and sugar.

One great thing about raw foods is that they allow you to eat hearty portions if you have a big appetite like mine.  

A good example is a raw food salad such as my colorful Rainbow Salad. It really IS a rainbow of both colors and nutrition with red beets and tomatoes, yellow bell pepper, orange carrots, and green cucumbers and lettuce.

Served with a little lemon and drizzle of olive oil, or a small amount of Sweet Mustard Dressing, this is a salad you can enjoy morning, noon, and night without worrying too much about calories. Click here for the Rainbow Salad Recipe.

Hi, my name is Tina.  I have been eating raw for about five weeks now. I really feel better than I have in quite a while.  I know I have lost weight and have detoxed quite a bit as well.  I would like to start to eat some Orange Roughy and sauted verggies for dinner.  Is this okay to do every night, or just a couple nights per week?
