Another Raw Food Favorite: Chocolate Mousse

My YouTube video library is a ready resource you can turn to whenever you want to do more than just read a recipe.  The demos I’ve created will let you see watch me ‘in action’ as I put together various recipes...often in under 10 minutes.

One of the most popular demos in my library that’s gotten nearly three times more hits than any other demo is my raw food Chocolate Mousse video.

Chocolate mousse is on the dessert menu at lots of upscale restaurants.  It’s rich and creamy with a deep chocolate flavor that’s positively addictive.  What’s also ‘addictive’ is the massive amount of refined sugar that goes into most recipes.  But my recipe for Raw Chocolate Mousse delivers everything you love about mousse, but uses all-natural ingredients to create it.

One of those ingredients is maple syrup which is a much healthier sweetener than processed sugar.  Maple syrup contains a little bit of potassium and calcium whereas refined sugar is nothing but empty calories.  And besides, maple syrup tastes amazing!

Kids love this mousse because it reminds them of chocolate pudding.  Or you can freeze it and make ‘mousse-cream’-like ice cream, but without the dairy.  And when you spoon this mousse into my a raw food crust made with nuts, coconut, and dates, you can turn it turns into an elegant chocolate mousse tart that grown-ups will adore.

Warning!  You may want to go overboard on portion sizes with this recipe, but you need to take care.  Raw food chocolate mousse may be made with nutritious ingredients, but it is not a ‘diet dish’ that is low in calories.

To watch me turn green avocado into a chocolate mousse that you can use to make your friends turn green with culinary envy, check out my YouTube video here.

I’m working on more than a dozen new videos for Spring, so keep your eyes peeled.  If you wish, you can subscribe to youtube channel to be notified when new content is available.

See you next time with more raw food dessert goodness.

Hi Jenny:

My niece is allergic to coconut.  What can I put in the place of it for making the crust? This looks very good..

Hi,

You can just leave the coconut out and use additional nuts instead.
